Allocation Of Main Bearing Shears Through Production Date 09/23/2012

NOTE:

It is absolutely necessary to observe the production date. The production date is located on the crankshaft counterweight. Determine the production date. Refer to MAIN BEARING SHELLS ALLOCATION .

The main bearing shells are allocated to the cylinder block and crankshaft with the correct thickness at the factory. Colored spots serve to identify the bearing thicknesses.

If the cylinder block or crankshaft are being replaced, then the bearing shells must be allocated.

The correct color code for the bearing shells needs to be determined by the letters on the cylinder block and the crankshaft.

The first letter is for crankshaft bearing 1, the second for crankshaft bearing 2, etc.

Letters on the Cylinder Block:

The letters for the allocation of bearing shells are located on the oil pan sealing surface.

Letters on the Crankshaft Counterweight:

The letters for the allocation of bearing shells are located on the outer crankshaft counterweight for cylinder 1.
