Overview - Catalytic Converters: Notes

Exhaust Manifold
- For exhaust bank 1
- Removing and installing. Refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Seal
- Always replace
Heated Oxygen Sensor -G39-
- Coat the threads on the new oxygen sensors with assembly paste
- If reusing, lubricate the threads with Hot Bolt Paste: G 052 112 A3 ; the paste must not get into the slits on the sensor body
- Removing and installing. Refer to OXYGEN SENSORS .
Catalytic Converter
- For exhaust bank 1
- Protect from shocks and impact stress
- Removing and installing. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Nuts
- 23 Nm
- Always replace
- Coat the stud bolts with Hot Bolt Paste:G 052 112 A3 .
Bolts
- 23 Nm
Oxygen Sensor after Three Way Catalytic Converter -G130-
- Coat the threads on the new heated oxygen sensors with assembly paste.
- If reusing, lubricate the threads with Hot Bolt Paste: G 052 112 A3 ; the paste must not get into the slits on the sensor body
- Removing and installing. Refer to OXYGEN SENSORS .
Suspended Mount
- Replace if damaged.

- 23 Nm

Oxygen Sensor 2 after Catalytic Converter -G131-
- Coat the threads on the new heated oxygen sensors with assembly paste.
- If reusing, lubricate the threads with Hot Bolt Paste: G 052 112 A3 ; the paste must not get into the slits on the sensor body
- Removing and installing. Refer to OXYGEN SENSORS .

- Coat the threads on the new heated oxygen sensors with assembly paste.
- If reusing, lubricate the threads with Hot Bolt Paste: G 052 112 A3 ; the paste must not get into the slits on the sensor body
- Removing and installing. Refer to OXYGEN SENSORS .
