Upper Coolant Pipe, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Drain the coolant for the high temperature coolant circuit. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING, HIGH TEMPERATURE CIRCUIT .

-- Remove the compressor. Refer to SUPERCHARGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Unclip the line -1-. Remove the nuts -arrows- and remove the protective plate -2-.

-- Remove the right lower section of the intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD LOWER SECTION WITH FUEL RAIL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front secondary air injection hose -arrow- from its bracket and disconnect it; do to so press the release buttons.

-- Free up the hose for the secondary air and vacuum hoses and move them to the side.

WARNING:

Fuel system is under pressure.

Risk of injury from fuel spraying out.

Wear protective eyewear.
Wear safety gloves.
Reduce the pressure: Lay clean cloths around the connection point -1- and carefully open the connection point.

NOTE:

Place a cleaning cloth underneath to catch any escaping coolant.

-- Remove the threaded connection -1- as well as the union nut -3-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- on the retaining plates and the high pressure pipe.

-- Remove the coolant hose -2- from the coolant pipe.

-- Remove the bolt -1- and remove the coolant pipe back out of the cylinder block in direction of -arrow-.
