Separating The Engine And Electro-Drive Drive Motor With Transmission:

-- Remove the right and left front muffler.

-- Remove the right and left catalytic converters.

-- Remove the front driveshaft. Refer to FRONT DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the bracket -A- for the catalytic converter. Remove the bolt -1- from the coolant pipes.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the plate -A- . Disconnect the coolant hose -B- .

-- Remove the bolt -1- and the nut -2- .

-- Disconnect the vacuum hoses -arrows- . Disconnect the coolant hoses -A- from the electro-drive drive motor and the engine. Move the coolant hoses and pipes to the side.

-- Remove the connector -1- and free up the bleed pipe -arrow- .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the ATF lines. Seal off all open lines and connections with suitable plugs.

-- Free up the wiring harness for the transmission.

-- Secure the hydraulic pipe for the clutch mechanism with cable ties in its installation position.

-- Remove the right front ground cable from the engine and tighten the Scissor Lift Table - Q7 Set - Articulated Joint Support:VAS6131/13-7  in the threaded hole.

-- Tighten the Scissor Lift Table - Q7 Set - Articulated Joint Support:VAS6131/13-7  to 20 Nm on the scissor lift table.

-- Tighten the Scissor Lift Table - Touareg Set - Supports: VAS6131/6-7  on the scissor lift table as illustrated and support the transmission free of tension under the oil pan. The turntables with the long spindle are required for this.

-- Remove the bolts -3 and 9- and install the Electric Drive Unit Guide Pins:T10441  .

-- Remove all bolts for the electro-drive drive motor.

-- Loosen the right and left clamping screws on the Scissor Lift Table:VAS6131B  . Separate the electro-drive drive motor with the transmission from the engine.
