Seat Height Adjustment Motor, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER AND BATTERY CUT-OUT UNITS, GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Attach the :VAS6136 to the :VAS6095 .

-- Attach the front seat to the :VAS6136 .

-- Remove the tunnel-side trim. Refer to TUNNEL-SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the sill-side trim. Refer to SILL-SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect electrical harness connector -1- on seat height adjustment motor -2-.

-- Release the tension in the torsion bar. Refer to TORSION BAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

CAUTION:

Threaded hole in the seat pan damaged or destroyed.

When removing or installing, the adjusting spindle/seat pan bolting torque must be relieved.

Risk of damage to the bushing -3- in the bearing point (adjusting spindle/seat pan bolting).

The bushing cannot be replaced with workshop materials.
If the bushing is damaged, the corresponding parts must be replaced.

-- Remove bolt -2- on the seat height adjustment motor adjusting spindle -1-.

-- Remove the bolt -2- for the adjusting spindle -1- for the seat angle adjustment motor (preset by the manufacturer).

-- Do not damage the bushing -1- inserted in the bearing area -2- when removing the bolt.

CAUTION:

The bushings cannot be replaced with workshop materials.
If the bushings are damaged, replace the corresponding components.

-- Tilt the seat pan upper frame -1- up as far as possible.

-- Support the seat pan upper frame with a suitable wood block -6- on the :VAS6136 -item 2-.

-- Remove the bolts -3- (quantity: 2).

-- Remove bracket -5- with seat height adjustment motor -4- from the seat pan.

-- Remove the bolts -1-.
