Four-Way Lumbar Support, Removing And Installing: Removing
- Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER AND BATTERY CUT-OUT UNITS, GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.
-- Remove the front seat. Refer to SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Attach the front seat to the :VAS6136 .
-- Remove the headrest. Refer to HEADREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the seat belt latch. Refer to FRONT SEAT BELT LATCHES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the tunnel-side trim. Refer to TUNNEL-SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the sill-side trim. Refer to SILL-SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the cover from the backrest. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Separate the Velcro fastener -3- between the system -2- and the padding.
It requires relatively high amount of force to separate the Velcro fastener.
Lay plastic film between the seat pan cover and the backrest frame to protect against metal shavings.
Risk of injury!
- Wear protective eyewear.
-- Drill out rivet -3-.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1- and -2- four way lumbar support adjustment motor and the four way lumbar support height adjustment motor.
-- Disengage the four-way lumbar support -2- on the backrest frame -1-.
-- Remove the four-way lumbar support from the backrest frame.
-- Disengage system -2- at four-way lumbar support -1- if necessary -arrows-.
