Reversible Seat Belt TENSIONER, Replacing Control Module, Guided Fault Finding

Vehicles with "PR number 4QE" have front seat belts equipped with a reversible belt tensioner.

If a front seat belt with a reversible belt tensioner is replaced, operate the control module integrated in the automatic belt retractor via "Guided Fault Finding".

Required Special Tools and Equipment 

Right Front Seat Belt

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester to the vehicle.

-- Start "Guided Fault Finding".

After all control modules have been checked:

-- Open "Select individual test..." under "Test plan".

-- Select "Body".

-- Select "Body Repairs".

-- Select "01 - On board diagnostic-capable systems".

-- Select "90 - Right front belt tensioner".

-- Select "90 - Right front belt tensioner, functions".

-- Select "90 - Replace control module".

-- Run the component protection function if it does not happen automatically.

Left Front Seat Belt

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester to the vehicle.

-- Start "Guided Fault Finding".

After all control modules have been checked:

-- Open "Select individual test..." under "Test plan".

-- Select "Body".

-- Select "Body Repairs".

-- Select "01 - On board diagnostic-capable systems".

-- Select "8F - Left front belt tensioner".

-- Select "8F - Left front belt tensioner, functions".

-- Select "8F - Replace control module (Rep. Gr. 69)".

-- Run the component protection function if it does not happen automatically.
