Passenger Occupant Detection System, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Move the seat height adjustment into the center before lifting the seat out.
-- Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery with the ignition on. Refer to BATTERY .
If the vehicle has a pass-through, it is sufficient to fold the backrest forward; it does not have to be removed.
-- Remove the front backrest. Refer to BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
The connectors on the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- and the Passenger Occupant Detection System Control Module -J706- may be disconnected.
-- Using a narrow screwdriver, carefully press the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- -item 3- off the bracket -arrow-.
-- Open the passenger occupant detection system pressure hose guide -1- and free up the pressure hose -2-.
-- Release the retaining spring -1- and tilt the Passenger Occupant Detection System Control Module -J706- -item 2- out of the mount.
-- Remove the electrical connector -4- from the bracket by pressing the release and removing the electrical connector.
-- Open the headlamp mounting tab on the electrical wiring harness guide -5- -arrow- and free up the wiring harness -3-.
-- Remove the cover and front seat cushion cover. Refer to SEAT COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Carefully pry out the passenger occupant detection system mat clips -1- and -3- on the front of the seat pan using a :80 - 200 .
-- Remove the cover and the cushion for the seat pan by first removing the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- through the opening in the seat pan.
Risk of damage!
- Do not bend the passenger occupant detection system pressure hose and mat.
-- Remove the cover and cushion for the lower seat frame, the mat for the -2- passenger occupant detection system and the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452-.
