Fuel Tank, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the rear axle. .

-- Open the fuel filler door and remove the cap.

-- Remove the fuel filler door unit. Refer to FUEL FILLER DOOR UNIT .

-- Remove the rubber seal from the fuel filler tube.

-- Remove the bolts -1- from the filler tube and disconnect the ground wire -2-.

-- Remove the rear seats or rear bench seat. Refer to REAR SEATS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fold the right carpet to the side.

-- Loosen the nuts -1 through 4- on the flange cover.

-- Remove the flange cover.

-- Disconnect the connector -3- from the fuel level sensor and the connector -5- from the fuel pump.

-- Remove the fuel return line -1-.

-- Remove the fuel supply line -2- and the fuel line for the parking heater -4-. Disconnect the connector couplings. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, DISCONNECTING .

-- Fold the carpet to the side.

-- Loosen the nuts -1 through 4- on the flange cover.

-- Remove the flange cover.

-- Disconnect the connector -arrow- from the sensor flange.

-- Remove the right rear wheel housing liner. Refer to WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Remove the stone chip protective molding -arrows-.

-- Unclip the breather lines that are secured on the longitudinal member with clips from the fuel tank.

-- Remove the filler tube bolt -arrow- in the wheel housing.

-- Remove the mounting straps with covers on left and right below the fuel tank.

-- Support the fuel tank using the :VAS6931  .

-- Remove the mounting strap in the center of the fuel tank.

-- Carefully lower the fuel tank a little.

-- Disconnect the connector from the Fuel Pump Control Module -J538-  ) OVERVIEW - FUEL TANK - FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE -J538-.

-- Lower the fuel tank.
