Fuel Tank, Draining With Fuel Pump Installed

CAUTION:

The fuel system is under pressure.

Risk of injury from fuel spraying out.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Reduce the pressure: place clean cloths around the connection point and carefully open the connection point.

-- Remember that if the battery is connected, the fuel pump will turn on when a door is opened. Fuel may leak out when the system is open.

-- Remove the fuel supply line -1- from the fuel filter.

-- Connect the :VAS6551/2  using the :VAS6551/5-1  to the fuel supply line -1-.

-- Guide the open end of the :VAS6551/2  into the :VAS5190  .

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester and perform the guided function "activate fuel pump".

NOTE:

The fuel pump is now activated.

-- Repeat this procedure as necessary until the fuel tank is completely empty.
