Power Steering Pump, Removing And Installing, 8-Cylinder Gasoline And Diesel Engine: Installing

Install In Reverse Order Of Removal. Note The Following: 

NOTE:

Replace the gaskets and seals.

Before installing the new power steering pump on the intake side, fill the Hydraulic Fluid and install it by hand until oil drains out on the high pressure side.

Hose supports and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installation.

Secure all hose connections with new hose clamps. Refer to the Parts Information.

-- Grease all around the gearing of the power steering pump and the input shaft. Refer to the Parts Information.

-- Install the input shaft in the power steering pump to the stop.

-- Attach the power steering pump to the engine.

-- The "P"  -arrow- on the intake hose -1- must line up with the seam -arrow- on the power steering pump.

-- Remove the left engine support. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [For engine(s) CGRA] .
