Tie Rod, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal while noting the following:

If the boot was removed from the steering gear, the sealing ring -item  ) OVERVIEW - POWER STEERING GEAR - SEAL on the steering gear must also be replaced.

-- Make sure the correct tie rod end is installed on each side.

- Left tie rod end marked with an "L"

II  - Right tie rod end marked with an "R"

-- Tighten The Tie Rod.

  1. Torque Wrench Insert - Open Jaw:VAG1923 
  2. Torque Wrench 1332 40-200 Nm :VAG1332 

-- Check the boot for wear (slits, cracks) and check the sealing surfaces of the boot for dirt.

-- Install the boot and clamp.

NOTE:

Only use original clamps.

Install In Reverse Order Of Removal.

-- Install the wheel and tighten. Refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .

-- After installation, a vehicle alignment must be performed. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT .
