Overview - Front Brakes, BREMBO 18"

NOTE:
After replacing brake pads, depress brake pedal firmly several times with vehicle stationary so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.
Use the Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit:VAS5234 or the Extractor:VAG1869/4 to extract brake fluid from brake fluid reservoir.
Install the Brake Pedal Actuator :VAG1869/2 to relieve pressure before removing a brake caliper or disconnecting a brake hose.
- Brake Rotor
- Internally vented brake rotor: 368 mm diameter
- Brake rotor thickness: 36 mm
- Wear limit: 34 mm
- Always replace on both axles (Rotors replaced in pairs per axle)
- Left and right sides are different
- Remove the brake caliper before removing, remove the brake hose bracket and insert the Brake Caliper Assembly Pins:T10439 ; do not disconnect the brake hose.
- Fitting Bolt
- 15 Nm
- Brake rotor to wheel hub
- Brake Pad Wear Display Wire
- Brake Caliper
- To replace the brake pad or brake rotor, do not remove the brake hose
- Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Servicing. Refer to OVERVIEW - BRAKE CALIPER, BREMBO 18" .
- Spring
- For brake pads
- Internal Multi-Point Bolt
- 30 Nm + 90° turn
- Always replace if removed
- Threads in the wheel bearing housing, servicing. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER THREADED CONNECTION THREAD, SERVICING .
- Dust Cap
- Install onto bleeder valve
- As a bracket for the brake pad wear display wire
- Brake Pads
- Thickness: 10 mm without backing plate
- Wear limit: 2 mm without backing plate
- With wear indicator
- When wear limit is reached (limit: approximately 4 mm) the warning lamp in instrument cluster will come on.
- Check the thickness. Refer to appropriate service information.
- Always replace on both axles.
- Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE PADS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
