Brake Pads, Removing And Installing: Installing: Notes

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required 

NOTE:

Before pressing piston into cylinder using piston resetting tool, brake fluid must be extracted from brake fluid reservoir. Otherwise, especially if reservoir has been topped off, fluid will overflow and cause damage.

-- Push back the pistons.

-- Mount the brake pads onto the four contact surfaces of the brake pad springs -arrows-.

-- Slide the brake pads onto the four brake pad retaining pins -arrows-.

WARNING:

The brake pad must fit in the retaining spring and bolts correctly.

-- Carefully place the brake caliper over the brake rotor.

-- Remove the Brake Caliper Assembly Pins:T10439  and install the internal multi-point bolts -A-.

-- Bolt both brackets -arrows- onto the wheel bearing housing.

-- Insert the brake pad wear display wire into the brake caliper and under the dust cap.

-- Connect the connector for the brake pad wear indicator -arrow- in the bracket.

-- Connect the connector -1- of the speed sensor.

-- Install the wheels.

Wheel Bolt Tightening Specifications. Refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .

NOTE:

After replacing brake pads and before moving vehicle, always depress brake pedal several times firmly to properly seat brake pads in their normal operating position.

Check Brake Fluid Level After Replacing Brake Pad.
