Brake Booster, Removing And Installing, RHD Vehicle: Removing

-- Open the clamps -arrows- and remove the intake line.

-- Remove the engine compartment seal near the brake booster.

-- Remove the right plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER BULKHEAD .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- for the coolant expansion tank -1-.

-- Push the coolant expansion tank -1- in the -direction of the arrow- from the mount.

-- Set the coolant reservoir -1- aside.

NOTE:

Do not remove the coolant hoses.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- to remove the bracket -1-.

-- Place the bracket -1- with the lines to the side.

-- Remove the toothed lock washer -arrow B-.

-- Unclip the coolant hose -1- from the bracket -arrow A-.

-- Remove the right bulkhead from the plenum chamber. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER BULKHEAD .

-- Place enough lint-free cloths in the plenum chamber in the area of the brake master cylinder.

-- Extract as much brake fluid as possible from the brake fluid reservoir with the Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit:VAS5234  .

-- Unclip the brake line -1- from the bracket -arrows-.

-- Remove the brake lines -A- and -B- from the brake master cylinder.

-- Seal the brake lines and brake master cylinder using the Plugs:1H0 698 311 A  from the repair kit.

-- Release and disconnect the connector -2- on the Brake Lamp Switch -F- -1-.

-- Remove the vacuum line -1- from the brake booster.

-- Release and disconnect the connector from the Brake Fluid Level Warning Switch -F34- -2-.

-- Remove the nut -arrow- from the brake booster.

-- Remove the brake fluid reservoir -1- from the brake master cylinder by removing the bolt -arrow-.

-- Remove the nut -arrow-.

-- Carefully remove the brake master cylinder -1- from the brake booster -2-.

-- Remove the footwell cover. Refer to FOOTWELL COVERS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Separate the brake booster from the brake pedal. Refer to BRAKE PEDAL, REMOVING FROM BRAKE BOOSTER .

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- from the brake booster.

-- Carefully remove the brake booster from the plenum chamber.
