CAUTION:

Always follow the procedure in the Service Information when disconnecting the battery. The battery cut-out will be deactivated and damage to the vehicle electrical equipment may occur if the connecting sequence is not followed exactly. Refer to BATTERY .

NOTE:

Code the new Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527- after installing it. Refer to STEERING COLUMN ELECTRONICS CONTROL MODULE -J527- .

If the steering column switch is faulty, then perform an output diagnostic test for the Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527-.

Malfunction Recognition and Malfunction Indicator

The Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527- has On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capabilities which aids in troubleshooting.

The "Guided Fault Finding" function is to be used for troubleshooting of one of the systems described as in service information "Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System". Refer to VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC TESTER .
