Measurement Preparations

The left Lane Change Assistance Control Module -J769- (master) or right Lane Change Assistance Control Module 2 -J770- (slave) is combined in one unit with the radar sensor for the respective side. They are located behind the rear bumper cover and must be calibrated after:

There is much preparation work that must be performed before calibrating using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to PREPARING FOR CALIBRATION .

  1. Volkswagen Logo
    • The laser pointer is aligned on the center of the Volkswagen logo
  2. Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mountings -VAS6350/1-
    • With 19 mm wheel bolt adapter and measure paddle
  3. Catch Bracket
    • To mount the calibration tool - spacing laser -VAS6350/2- for the distance measurement
    • Distance to the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mountings -VAS6350/1- on the rear wheels: dimension -a- = 1700 ± 2 mm
  4. Level
    • On the Calibration Tool -VAS6350-
    • To check the horizontal position of the Calibration Tool -VAS6350-
  5. Calibration Tool -VAS6350-
  6. Plastic Foot
    • Can be adjusted for adjusting the horizontal position of the Calibration Tool -VAS6350-
    • Quantity: 3
  7. Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS6350/2 
    • For distance measurement
    • For information on usage. Refer to the Operating Instructions.
  8. Calibration Tool - Linear Laser -VAS6350/3-
    • With "laser eye protection"
    • On the Calibration Tool -VAS6350-
    • Turning on and off. Refer to the Operating Instructions.
  9. Measurement Scale
    • For positioning the Calibration Tool - Lane Change Calibration Tool -VAS6350/4-
    • Dimension to be adjusted measuring point on steel ruler = 815 mm
  10. Calibration Tool - Lane Change Calibration Tool -VAS6350/4-
    • Is moved from the left to the right side of measuring field during calibration
    • When installed correctly, vehicle electrical system voltage line must be connected at bottom left of calibration device (as seen in direction of travel)
    • Height of the upper edge of the calibration device to the floor: approximately 850 mm
