Hid Headlamp Bulb, Replacing: Removing

-- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.

-- Remove the headlamp. Refer to HEADLAMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove both screws -arrows-.

-- Press the lock button -1- and, starting at the top, remove the cover -2- from the headlamp housing.

-- Disengage the cover from the lower guides and move it to the side. Pay attention to the wires still connected.

-- Press the button -arrow- on the side, disconnect the connector -1- and then remove it downward.

WARNING:

There are pressures from 7 bar (101.52 psi) (cold) to 100 bar (1450 psi) (hot) in the glass portion of the HID bulb. The hot glass of the bulb can reach temperatures of up to 700 °C (1292 °F).
The glass can explode and there is a danger of burning.
When removing and installing HID bulbs, always wear safety glasses and gloves.

-- Remove gas discharge lamp -1- in direction of -arrow- and carefully remove it toward rear from headlamp.
