Headliner, Removing And Installing: Removing
Vehicles with a panorama sunroof:
- Panorama sunroof completely open.
- Sun shade open approximately 2 /3 .
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Remove the front interior and reading lamp. Refer to LAMPS AND SWITCHES IN ROOF TRIM PANEL
-- Remove the interior rearview mirror. Refer to INTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the camera cover. Refer to CAMERA COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the instrument panel side covers. Refer to SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVERS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the A-pillar center trim panels. Refer to A-PILLAR CENTER TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the A-pillar upper trim panels. Refer to A-PILLAR UPPER TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Detach the B-pillar trim panels from the mounts. Refer to B-PILLAR TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Detach the C-pillar trim panels from the mounts. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the D-pillar trim panels. Refer to D-PILLAR TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the roof grab handle. Refer to ROOF GRAB HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the sun visors. Refer to SUN VISORS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- In vehicles with eyelets -2-, press the cap -1- toward the outside of the vehicle and remove the underlying bolt -3- from the mount -4- (9 Nm).
The bolts -3- have microencapsulation and must be replaced when installing the headliner.
The corresponding threads must be cleaned, for example, with a suitable wire brush prior to installation of the new bolts.
-- In vehicles with a panorama sunroof, clean the :80 - 200 to avoid soiling the headliner.
-- Using the :80 - 200 , slide it along between the panorama roof opening cover frame -2- and headliner -1- until one of the clips -3- is touched.
-- Use the :80 - 200 to unclip the cover frame all around in the area of the clips -arrow-.
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2- under the bracket.
-- Carefully unclip the headliner from the roof crossmember -arrows-.
-- Together with a second technician, lower the headliner (risk of breakage) and carefully guide it out of the rear lid.
