Transmission Park Selector Switch -F305-, Removing And Installing, Vehicles Through 05/2012
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Volkswagen Touareg, 2013 Volkswagen Touareg, 2012 Volkswagen Touareg, and 2011 Volkswagen Touareg. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
It is comprised of 2 micro-switches. The two micro-switches create the signal that the electronic ignition key lock needs to release the key only when the selector lever is in the P position.
The first micro-switch is closed when the Shift Lock Solenoid -N110- is not actuated in the "P" selector lever position (when brake pedal is not operated). The selector lever emergency release is not activated.
The second micro-switch is closed when the button on selector lever handle is not actuated in selector lever position "P".
The Transmission Park Selector Switch -F305- Cannot Be Removed Separately. It Must Be Replaced Together with the Selector Mechanism.
-- Remove the gearshift mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
