Output Shaft Seal, Replacing: Removing

-- Remove the transfer case. Refer to TRANSMISSION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, HYBRID VEHICLES .

-- To remove the sealing ring, install a 4 mm sheet metal screw in the sealing ring -arrow-.

Screw in the sheet metal screw so that it is clamped between the sealing ring and metal sleeve.
Be careful not to install the sheet metal screw too deep in order to prevent damage to the bearing underneath.
