WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Volkswagen Touareg, 2013 Volkswagen Touareg, 2012 Volkswagen Touareg, and 2011 Volkswagen Touareg. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Always replace the circlip and the O-ring on the transfer case and rear final drive pin.

-- With a second technician, line up the driveshaft with the markings made earlier and attach the center bearing.

-- Install the driveshaft onto the pin with a quick push being careful not to tilt it. If it does not slide onto the flange, use a piece of wood -A-. Pull the driveshaft to make sure it secure.
