Front Driveshaft, Removing And Installing, Driveshaft With Joint On One Side: Removing
-- Move the selector lever into "N".
-- Lift the vehicle.
-- Remove the noise insulation and bracket under the transmission. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .
-- Remove the right particulate filter. .
-- Mark -arrow- the installed position of the driveshaft to front final drive on the transfer case.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- that connect the front driveshaft to the transfer case.
-- To do so, use the Counterhold - Multiple Use:T10172A with the Counterhold - Kit - Adapter 6: T10172/6 .
Always replace the bolts after removing.
-- Use a pry lever -1- to remove the driveshaft from the front final drive -2- -arrow-. To do this, position the pry lever on the push-on connector -3-.
Danger of causing damage to the driveshaft.
- The pry lever -1- must be mounted on the push-on connector -3- in order to remove the driveshaft from the front final drive -2-.
- The pry lever -1- will get damaged if is touching the boot. Then it will necessary to remove the driveshaft.
A circlip secures the driveshaft to the pin and can be pulled off with a forceful pull.
-- Guide the driveshaft downward and remove it.
