Front Driveshaft, Removing And Installing, Driveshaft With Joint On One Side: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Install a new O-ring -1- and new circlip -2-.

-- Attach the driveshaft to the front final drive.

• The markings on the driveshaft and the final drive -arrow- must line up.

-- Install the driveshaft onto the pin with a quick push being careful not to tilt it. If it does not slide onto the pin, use a piece of wood -A-, for example, to install the driveshaft. Pull the driveshaft to make sure it secure.

-- Install the driveshaft to the transfer case with new bolts -arrows-.

-- To do so, use the Counterhold - Multiple Use:T10172A  with the Counterhold - Kit - Adapter 6: T10172/6  .

• The marks on the driveshaft and on the transfer case flange line up.

Tightening Specification: -item 6-  COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - FRONT DRIVESHAFT WITH JOINT ON ONE SIDE List Item:Bolts

-- Install the right particulate filter. .

-- Install the noise insulation and bracket under the transmission. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .
