Center Support, Replacing: Assembling
Install in reverse order of removal, while doing so note the following.
- Always replace the clamps, circlip, centrifugal disk and cap after disassembly.
- Always clean and newly grease the ball cage and running surface on the hub and in the driveshaft tube before assembling.
- Clean the sealing surfaces of the boot on the hub and driveshaft.
- When assembling the components pay attention that the markings match.
To install the center support, only support the driveshaft as shown in the following illustration, otherwise the ball joint may be damaged.
-- Position the Puller - Kukko Separating Tool - Diameter 25-155mm:15/3 on the outer circumference of the joint -magnified view-. Position the center support and carefully press it all the way onto the driveshaft hub using the Thrust Piece - Center Bearing:T10529 .
-- Insert a new centrifugal disk and carefully press it all the way on the hub using the Thrust Piece - Center Bearing:T10529 .
-- Install the boot with a new clamp.
Before tightening the clamp make sure the boot is seated correctly.
-- Secure the book to the hub with a new clamp.
-- Install a new circlip and push the ball cage on the hub. When doing this the marking on the hub must match the marking on the ball cage.
-- Place a new cap -1- on the hub, and drive in using the Centering/Press Pin:12-551 -2- until it stops.
-- Push the ball cage back to the cap, and secure on the other end with pliers.
-- Clean the contact surface of the ball cage in the driveshaft tube and fill with new grease. Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
-- Push the driveshaft on the hub tube to the pliers. Pay attention that the markings match up.
-- Remove the pliers.
-- Push the driveshaft tube over the ball cage until the circlip can be installed.
-- Install the new circlip.
The circlip is installed correctly when it lays completely in the groove -arrow-.
-- Push the boot on the driveshaft tube and secure with a new clamp.
-- Install the hear driveshaft. Refer to REAR DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
