Front Output Flange/Driveshaft Seal, Replacing, Transfer Case Without Flange: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Lightly coat the outer circumference of the new shaft seal with oil.

-- Fill the space between the sealing and dust lip halfway with Sealing Grease :G 052 128 A1 .

-- Install the new shaft seal all the way using the Seal Installer - Flange Shaft :T10449 . Be careful not to tilt it.

-- Install the new dust cap -A- on the shaft until it locks using the Seal Installer - Inner Output Shaft :T10399 .

-- Replace the O-ring -A- and the circlip -B-.

-- Install the front driveshaft. Refer to FRONT DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fill the transmission fluid and check the fluid level in the transfer case. Refer to TRANSFER CASE, CHECKING TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL .
