Front Output Flange/Driveshaft Seal, Replacing, Transfer Case With Flange: Removing

-- Remove the noise insulation.

-- Remove the front driveshaft.

-- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit :SMN372500 under the transfer case.

-- Remove the drain plug -2- and drain the transmission fluid.

-- Re-install the oil drain plug with Locking Fluid :AMV 185 101 A1 . Tightening specification. Refer to TRANSFER CASE, CHECKING TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL - Tightening Specification .

-- Remove the circlip -1-.

-- Fasten the Puller - Multiple Use :VW391 to the flange.

A -M8 x 35 bolts

B -M8 nuts

-- Remove the flange with the dust cap.

-- Make a hole in the center of the shaft seal with a Drift.

-- Install the 4 mm diameter -arrow- screws.

NOTE:

Do not damage sealing surface on the input shaft when doing so.

Be careful not to install the screw too deep otherwise the bearing underneath will get damaged.

-- Remove the shaft seal using the Puller - Unit Injector :T10055 .
