Engine/transmission subassembly removed; engine and transmission separated. Refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .
Engine secured with Scissor Lift Table - Q7 Set Articulated Joint Support:VAS6131/13-7 .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the heat shield -1-.

-- Remove the hose clamp on the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor drive dust cap -arrow-.

-- Remove the lower timing chain cover. Refer to LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Vehicles with hydraulic power steering: Disconnect the power steering pump from the guide frame.

-- Remove the power take-off drive chain. Refer to POWER TAKE-OFF DRIVE CHAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen and remove the bolts -1 to 5- in a diagonal sequence.

-- First loosen the spur gear unit from the bonding and then remove it.

-- Remove the oil pump input shaft -arrow-.
