Power Steering Pump Drive Seal, Replacing: Procedure

-- Remove The Power Steering Pump. Refer To VANE PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Rotate The Spindle On The Puller - Shaft Seal:T40195  All The Way Back.

-- Lubricate The Seal Remover Threaded Head, Position It, And Then Install It Into The Shaft Seal As Far As Possible Using Strong Force.

-- Rotate The Inner Section Of The Seal Puller Against The Spur Gear Unit Until The Shaft Seal Is Removed.

NOTE:

If The Shaft Seal Breaks, Position The Seal Puller A Second Time And Remove The Rest Of The Seal.

-- Clamp The Seal Puller In A Vise At The Hex Bolt And Remove The Shaft Seal With Pliers.

-- Clean The Running And Sealing Surface.

-- Install The Power Steering Pump Drive Seal In As Far As It Will Go Using The Seal Installer - Power Steering/Oil Pump:T40193  .

The Installation Location Is Shown With The Engine Removed.

-- Install The Power Steering Pump. Refer To VANE PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
