Crankcase Ventilation With A Non-Detachable Hose
-- Loosen the clamps -arrows-, remove the air guide pipe and then move it to the side with the hose -1- still connected.
-- Repeat the procedure on the other side of the vehicle.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Remove the bolts -3-.
-- Press the release button and remove the hose -4- from the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) combination valve.
-- Pull the back of the air filter housing -2- from the bracket -arrow- and remove it.
-- Remove the nut -1- and move the hose to the side.
-- Repeat the procedure on the other side of the vehicle.
-- Remove the nuts and bolt -arrows- and the air filter housing bracket -1-.
-- Repeat the procedure on the other side of the vehicle.
-- Disconnect the connector -3- from the Engine Coolant Level Warning Switch -F66-.
-- Lift the clip -1-, loosen the clamp -4- and remove the coolant hoses.
-- Remove the nut -2- and the coolant reservoir.
-- Lift the clamp -1-, loosen the clamps -2 and 3- and remove the coolant hose.
-- Loosen the clamp -arrow- and remove the right coolant hose from the longitudinal member.
-- Remove the front vacuum hose -arrow- from the intake manifold.
Vehicles with Hydraulic Power Steering
Place a cloth underneath to catch the draining hydraulic fluid.
-- Remove the power steering hydraulic fluid hose -2-.
Continuation for All Vehicles
Catch any leaking ATF with a cloth.
-- Remove the bolt -1- and pull the ATF pipe off the radiator.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS6122 .
-- Loosen the clamp -3- and remove the left coolant hose from the longitudinal member.
-- If installed: Remove the nut -arrow- and free up the ATF line.
-- Remove the bolts -3-.
-- Remove the clips -2- from the mount and remove the plenum chamber cover -1-.
-- Release the retainer -arrow A- and open the cover -arrow B-.
Wire Junction Version 1
-- Remove the nuts -1 and 2- for the electrical wires.
-- Disconnect the connectors -3 and 4-.
-- Remove the bolt -5- and the Terminal 30 Wire Junction 2 -TV22- from the tower brace -arrow-.
Wire Junction Version 2
-- Disconnect the connectors -3 and 4-.
-- Remove the bolt -5- and the Terminal 30 Wire Junction 2 -TV22- from the tower brace -arrow-.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Release the retainers from the wheel housing side using a 5.5 mm wrench -1- and remove the wiring bushing -2- upward.
-- Free up the wiring harness -3- to the generator and starter using the Pry Lever:80-200 .
-- Open the catch in direction of -arrow-, free up the wiring harness and open the wiring duct -1-.
-- Remove the nut -1- and tilt -arrow A- the washer fluid reservoir filler neck -2- upward slightly.
-- Remove the filler neck with the filler tube from the washer fluid reservoir and the opening in the body -arrow B-.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and nuts -2- and the tower brace -3-. The procedure for doing this depends on the version.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the engine compartment E-box cover.
-- Remove the nut -1- and free up the wire.
-- Release the retainers in direction of -A arrows- and remove the Engine Control Module (ECM) in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- if applicable.
-- Disconnect the connectors -4-.
-- Remove the nut -3- from the wire.
-- Release the retainers in direction of -arrow- and remove the relay carrier with the fuse holder -1-.
-- Disengage the engine wiring harness at the engine compartment E-box and free it up.
-- Open the retainers in direction of -arrows A- and remove the wiring harness bushing -2- -arrow B-.
-- Remove the Ground (GND) pin -1- and free up the GND wire.
-- Lay the wiring harness on the engine and secure the ECM so that it cannot fall.
-- Loosen the clamp -2- and remove the coolant hose.
-- Push the coolant hoses with hose guide into the engine compartment.
Ignore item -1-.
Risk of damaging refrigerant lines and hoses.
- Do not stretch, kink or bend refrigerant lines and hoses.
-- Remove the bolt -1-, the nut -2- and the refrigerant line.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS6122 .
-- Remove the bolt -2-.
-- Disconnect the refrigerant line from the compressor.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS6122 .
-- Remove the nut -arrow- on the right longitudinal member and free up the GND wires.
-- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit: VAG1782 under the engine.
-- Free up the wires -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -2 and 3- and the oil lines.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS6122 .
-- Disconnect the connectors and free up the wires.
- Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-
- Right Electrohydraulic Engine Mount Solenoid Valve -N145-
Audi RS4/RS5 Coupe
-- Disconnect the connector -arrow- for the Secondary Air Injection Pump Motor -V101-.
-- Disconnect the connector -3- and free up the wire.
-- Place the Shop Crane - Drip Tray:VAS6208 under engine.
-- Loosen the hose clamp -1- and remove the coolant hose from the After-Run Coolant Pump -V51-.
Ignore items -2 and 4-.
Audi RS5 Cabrio
-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2- and free up the wires.
Use a cloth to catch any leaking coolant.
-- Loosen the hose clamp -3- and remove the coolant hose.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Disconnect the coolant fan connectors -1 and 2-, to do this, push the clamp to the rear in direction of -arrow- and push the release down.
-- Free up the wiring harness.
-- Disconnect the connectors -arrow- at the left and right on the front speed sensors.
-- If installed: Disconnect the connector -1- Headlamp Range Control Sensor 1 -G233- electrical sensor -arrow- and free up electrical wiring.
-- Free up the electrical connector -2- on the bracket by pulling the retainer back in direction of -arrow A- and turning the connector approximately 90° in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Free up the electrical wiring -3- and brake line -4- on the bracket.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and secure the brake caliper, with the brake line still connected, inside the wheel housing using wire.
Risk of damaging brake pistons.
- Do not operate brake pedal with brake caliper removed.
-- Remove the nut -2- and the bolt -1-.
-- Remove the upper control arm upward from the wheel bearing housing in direction of -arrows-.
-- Repeat the procedure on the other side of the vehicle.
-- Remove the left and right stabilizer bar bolt -1-.
-- Remove the left and right nuts -3-.
The bolt -2- will be removed later.
-- Remove the subframe crossbrace. Refer to SUBFRAME CROSSBRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
The suspension components could be damaged.
- Do not rest the vehicle on its wheels if the subframe mount, the steering gear or the subframe crossbrace are not installed correctly.
-- Remove the steering intermediate shaft from the steering gear push them upward. Refer to STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Vehicles with Electro-Mechanical Power Steering
-- Release the safety catch in direction of -arrow-, push the retainer down and disconnect the connector from -2- from the Power Steering Control Module -J500-.
-- Free up the wiring harness.
Ignore item -1-.

-- Remove the left and right bolts -arrows- and the heat shield -1-.
-- Remove the drive axle. Refer to DRIVE AXLE or STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
