Exhaust Manifold, Removing And Installing: Removing

• Engine/transmission assembly removed and placed on the Scissor Lift Table:VAS6131B  .

-- Remove the front muffler. Refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Left Exhaust Manifold 

-- Remove the bolt -1- and the oil dipstick tube.

-- Remove the connectors from the bracket, disconnect them and then free up the wires.

2 - for Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 -G108-

3 - for Oxygen Sensor 2 after Catalytic Converter -G131-

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Push the retaining strap off the transmission and move it to the rear -arrow-.

-- Loosen the nuts in the sequence -6 to 1-.

-- Remove the connectors from the bracket, disconnect them and then free up the wires.

2 - for Oxygen Sensor after Three Way Catalytic Converter -G130-

3 - for Heated Oxygen Sensor -G39-

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Loosen the nuts in the sequence -6 to 1-.

Continued For Both Sides 

-- Loosen the nut and then remove the exhaust manifold with the catalytic converter from the securing strips.
