Camshaft Timing Chain, Removing And Installing: Installing

-- Mount The Timing Chain On The Intake Camshaft.

-- Mount The Timing Chain On The Exhaust Camshaft.

-- Lay The Timing Chain On The Crankshaft And Hold It There.

-- Install The Guide Rail -2- And Tighten The Bolts -1-.

The Help Of A Second Technician Is Necessary For The Following Step.

-- Turn the exhaust camshaft in direction of -arrow 1-, slide the :T40271/1  out of the chain sprocket splines in direction of -arrow 2-.

-- Continue to hold the camshaft and install the camshaft timing chain tensioning rail. Tighten the bolt -A-.

-- Remove the :T40271/1  .

Without Wrench Clearance:

The Help Of A Second Technician Is Necessary For The Following Step.

-- Turn The Exhaust Camshaft With The :T10172A  Slightly In Direction Of -Arrow A- And Push The :T40271/1  From The Chain Sprocket Splines In Direction Of -arrow B-.

-- Remove the :T40271/1  .

-- Release The Camshaft In The Direction -C-, Until The Timing Chain Touches The Guide Rail -1-. Hold The Camshaft Firmly In This Position, Install The Tensioning Rail -2- And Tighten The Bolt -3-.

-- Turn The Intake Camshaft In Direction Of -arrow 1-, Slide The :T40271/2  Out Of The Chain Sprocket Splines In Direction Of -Arrow 2- And Release The Camshaft.

-- Remove the :T40271/2  .

-- Check That The Position Of The Colored Chain Link Is Aligned To The Markings.

-- Remove The :T40271/2  .

-- Check That The Position Of The Colored Chain Link Is Aligned To The Markings.

-- Install The Drive Chain For The Oil Pump And The Chain Tensioner. Tighten The Bolt -1- And Remove The :T40011  .

-- Install The Bolts -arrows- And Tighten Them. Tightening Specifications. Refer To -Item  ) OVERVIEW - CYLINDER HEAD.

-- Lubricate The Hole -Arrow- With Engine Oil.

• Carefully Mount The Bearing Bracket Without Tilting It.

-- Attach the bearing mount and install the bolts -arrows- all the way by hand.

-- Depending on the version, remove either the :T40011  or the :T40267  .

-- Tighten the bearing bracket bolts -arrows-. Refer To OVERVIEW - CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAINS .

-- Install The Control Valve -Item  ) OVERVIEW - CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAINS.

Further installation is performed in reverse order of removal, while noting the following:

-- Install the :T10531/3  . In the "TDC Point" The Flat Area -1- Points Upward. Install The :T10531/4  . Turn The Crankshaft Using A 32 mm Open End Wrench Twice In The Direction Of Engine Rotation.

-- Remove the turning over tool and install the lower timing chain cover. Refer To LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REPLACING .

-- Install the upper timing chain cover. Refer To UPPER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
