Ignition Coils, Removing And Installing: Notes

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Puller - Ignition Coil:T40039 

Remove the Ignition Coils from Cylinder Bank 1 

-- Remove air filter housing lower section. Refer to REMOVING LOWER SECTION OF THE AIR FILTER .

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2-.

-- Pull ignition coils approximately 30 mm out of spark plug shaft using :T40039  .

-- Release electrical connectors and remove connectors simultaneously from ignition coils.

Remove the Ignition Coils from Cylinder Bank 2 

-- Remove the coolant expansion tank -arrow- and disconnect the connector on the Engine Coolant Level Warning Switch -F66- on the bottom of the expansion tank.

-- Move the coolant reservoir to the side with hoses -1 and 3- connected.

-- Remove the bolts -2 and 3-.

-- Pull ignition coils approximately 30 mm out of spark plug shaft using :T40039  .

-- Release electrical connectors and remove connectors simultaneously from ignition coils.
