Rear Bumper Cover: Disassembly

All vehicles 

  1. Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to: Rear Bumper Cover .

    Vehicles equipped with foot operated liftgate 

  2. Remove the push pins, release the locating tabs and remove the liftgate module cover.

  3. Disconnect the liftgate module electrical connectors.

  4. Remove the screws and the liftgate module.

    All vehicles 

  5. Disconnect the rear bumper cover harness electrical connectors.

  6. Separate the harness guides and remove the rear bumper cover harness.

  7. On both sides. Drill the rivets and remove the front door keyless entry antenna.

  8. Remove the rear parking aid sensors and rear active park assist sensors.

    1. Release the tabs.
    2. Remove the rear parking aid sensors and rear active park assist sensors from the bracket.

  9. Remove the push pins, the screws and the rear bumper cover reinforcement.

    Vehicles equipped with foot operated liftgate 

  10. Release the tabs and remove the hands-free liftgate actuation lower sensor.

    All vehicles 

  11. Remove the push nuts, release the tabs and remove the step plate.

  12. Release the tabs and remove the trailer hitch cover panel.

  13. On both sides. Remove the nuts and the rear reflector lens.

  14. Drill the rivets, remove the push pins, release the tabs and remove the rear lower bumper cover panel.

  15. On both sides. Remove the push pins and remove the rear bumper moulding.
