Heated Wiper Park
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
When the heated wiper park function is activated (ambient temperature falls below a predetermined temperature, using voice command, the touchscreen, or when the rear window defrost button is pressed on the FCIM) and the ambient air temperature is below 21° C (70° F), the FCIM activates the heated wiper park relay (integral to BJB) by providing ground to the relay coil. The heated wiper park relay (integral to BJB) then provides voltage to the heated wiper park grid in the windshield.
The FCIM deactivates the heated wiper park relay (integral to BJB) when any one of these conditions are met:
- Ambient temperature rises above a predetermined temperature.
- The rear window defrost button is pressed when the feature is active.
- The ignition state changes to OFF.
- A predetermined timer completes.
- Battery voltage has dropped below a specified threshold (load management strategy).
