Adaptive Front Lighting
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Adaptive front lighting uses the HCM to command the 5 headlamp adaptive lighting Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) through the LIN to the adaptive front lighting module attached to each headlamp assembly.
Depending on the inputs received (steering wheel angle and vehicle speed for example), the adaptive front lighting module can command the 5 headlamp adaptive lighting Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) at different intensities to widen nighttime visibility. Adaptive front lighting is only activated when the headlamp switch is in the AUTOLAMPS position.
