Pinpoint Test H : The Active Park Assist System Does Not Activate When The Active Park Assist Switch Is Pressed

- H1 VERIFY THE CONCERN
- Verify the operation of the active park assist system.
Does the active park assist system operate correctly?
Yes The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by high network traffic or the driver's perception of how the active park assist system operate. REFER to the Owner's Literature. No GO to H2 - H2 PERFORM A NETWORK TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform a network test.
Do the PAM, GWM, TRM, BCM and the FCIM modules pass the network test?
Yes GO to H3 No See the Symptom Chart: Communication Network. REFER to: Communications Network . - H3 CHECK THE PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PAM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to PAM DTC Chart . No GO to H4 - H4 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) CONTINUOUS MEMORY DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (CMDTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes See the GWM DTC Chart. REFER to: Communications Network . No GO to H5 - H5 CHECK THE TRM (TRAILER MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the TRM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes See the TRM DTC Chart. REFER to: DTC Chart: TRM . No GO to H6 - H6 CHECK THE ATCM (ALL TERRAIN CONTROL MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the ATCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes See ATCM DTC Chart. Vehicles With: 1-Speed Torque On Demand Transfer Case REFER to:DTC Chart: All-Terrain Control Module . Vehicles With: 2-Speed Torque On Demand Transfer Case REFER to: DTC Chart: All-Terrain Control Module . No GO to H7 - H7 CHECK FOR CORRECT ATCM (ALL TERRAIN CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect the ATCM connector.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the ATCM connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new ATCM. REFER to: Mode Select Switch (MSS) . If the concern is still present after the ATCM replacement, GO to H8 No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - H8 CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all PAM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the PAM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new PAM. REFER to: Parking Assist Control Module (PAM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
