Inspection and Verification

- Verify the customer concern.
- Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

IWE solenoid - If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
- If the cause is not visually evident, connect the scan tool to the DLC.
- If the TCCM or ATCM does not pass the network test, REFER to: Communications Network . .
- Download the Self Test and Datalogger tools.
- Retrieve and record CMDTCs for all modules.
- Clear the CMDTCs from the ATCM and TCCM.
- Perform the KOEO self test on the ATCM and TCCM.
- If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, GO to Symptom Chart: Four-Wheel Drive Systems - 1 Speed Torque on Demand or GO to Symptom Chart NVH Symptom Chart - NVH.
