Turbocharger Bypass Valve: Removal

NOTE: When removing any turbocharger air intake system components, make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system. The turbocharger compressor vanes can be damaged by even the smallest particles. All components need to be inspected and cleaned prior to installation or reassembly.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting .
  2. Remove the pushpins and the twist locks to remove the splash shield.

  3. Disconnect the CAC to throttle body inlet pipe. Disconnect the quick connect coupling at the turbocharger bypass valve. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector, remove the retainers and the turbocharger bypass valve.

    Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
