Turbocharger Oil Supply Tube RH: Removal

NOTE: The turbocharger compressor vanes can be damaged by even the smallest particles. When removing any turbocharger or engine air intake system component, ensure that no debris enters the system. Failure to do so may result in damage to the turbocharger.
NOTE: Special attention needs to be given to the sealing ports for the oil feed, the oil drain, and the coolant lines, on turbocharged engines. The sealing ports must be totally clean and free from O-ring residue, have no damage to the sealing surface and the lines to ensure that there are no leaks or repeat repairs.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting .
    • If equipped, remove the bolts.

    • Release the retainer and remove the transmission housing cover.

  2. Remove the right front fender splash shield. Refer to: FENDER SPLASH SHIELD .
  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe RH. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .
  4. Remove the charge air cooler intake pipe - right side. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe .
  5. Remove the charge air cooler tube bracket retainers, then position the charge air cooler tube bracket and coolant hoses out of the way.

  6. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor belt. Refer to:AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) COMPRESSOR BELT .
  7. Disconnect the air conditioning compressor electrical connectors and the harness retainer.

  8. Loosen the air conditioning compressor mounting bolts and position the air conditioning compressor aside.

  9. Remove the turbocharger oil supply tube bolts, then remove and discard the turbocharger oil supply tube.

  10. Remove and discard the turbocharger fitting, oil filter assembly from the engine block.
