Turbocharger Oil Supply Tube RH: Installation

  1. Lubricate the new turbocharger fitting, oil filter assembly O-ring seal with clean engine oil. Refer to:SPECIFICATIONS .

    1. NOTE: Do not use any brushes, damage to sealing area will result in leaks and possible internal turbo bearing damage.

      Use brake cleaner on a lint free rag to remove the O-ring residue out of the turbocharger fitting to engine block O-ring bore. Inspect the area for deep scratches and gouges. Install new components if necessary.

    2. Install and tighten the new turbocharger fitting, oil filter assembly into the engine block.

      Material: Motorcraft® Metal Brake Parts Cleaner / PM-4-A, PM-4-B

      Torque: 24 lb.ft (32 Nm)

  2. Lubricate the new turbocharger oil supply tube O-ring seal with clean engine oil. Refer to:SPECIFICATIONS .

      Use brake cleaner on a lint free rag to remove the O-ring residue out of the turbocharger tube to turbocharger O-ring bore. Inspect the area for deep scratches and gouges. Install new components if necessary.

    2. NOTE: Fully seat the turbocharger oil supply tube into the turbocharger bore hole flush to 2.5 mm off the mounting surface prior to fastener rundown.
      NOTE: The turbocharger tube end must be installed into the turbocharger fitting, oil filter assembly along the centerline. The assembly is complete when the turbocharger tube end bottoms out in the turbocharger fitting, oil filter assembly with an audible click/snap feel. Correct assembly should be verified by pulling back on the turbocharger fitting, oil filter assembly tube end.

      Install the new turbocharger oil supply tube, verify the correct assembly by pulling back on the turbocharger fitting, oil filter assembly tube end. Then install and tighten the turbocharger oil supply tube bolts.

      Material: Motorcraft® Metal Brake Parts Cleaner / PM-4-A, PM-4-B

      Torque:

      Stage 1: Tighten to : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

      Stage 2: Tighten an additional : 30°

  3. Install the air conditioning compressor, and then tighten the air conditioning compressor mounting bolts in the sequence shown in the figure.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  4. Connect the air conditioning compressor electrical connectors and the harness retainer.

  5. Install the air conditioning (A/C) compressor belt. Refer to: AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) COMPRESSOR BELT .
  6. Install charge air cooler tube bracket and coolant hoses, then install and tighten the charge air cooler tube bracket retainers.

    Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

  7. Install the charge air cooler intake pipe - right side. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe .
  8. Install the air cleaner outlet pipe RH. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .
  9. Install the right fender splash shield. Refer to: FENDER SPLASH SHIELD .
    • If equipped, install the transmission housing cover and attach the retainer.

    • Install the bolts.

      Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

  10. Check and top off the engine oil level as needed. Refer to:SPECIFICATIONS .
  11. Start and check for leaks.
