Oil Cooler: Installation

NOTE: Make sure the oil cooler-to-oil filter adapter is aligned.
Install the oil cooler and the retainer.
Torque:
Stage 1: 43 lb.ft (58 Nm)
Stage 2: 9°

- Using the hose clamp installer, install the coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer.
- Remove the hose locking pliers. Use the General Equipment: Locking Pliers.
- Connect the block heater cord.

NOTE: Do not lubricate the engine oil filter gasket.
Install a new engine oil filter.
Torque:Stage 1: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)Stage 2: 180 °
- Install the air cleaner outlet pipe LH. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe LH .
- Slide the engine appearance cover into the retaining bracket and install the retainers.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- Inspect and adjust the coolant level in the degas bottle.
Material
: Motorcraft® Orange Concentrated Antifreeze/Coolant / VC-3-B (WSS-M97B44-D)
- Inspect the engine oil level.
- Fill the engine with clean engine oil as needed. Refer to: Specifications .
