Heated Steering Wheel Module (HSWM): Removal

  1. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
    NOTE: The PMI process must begin with the current HSWM installed. If the current HSWM does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, the tool may prompt for As-Built Data as part of the repair.

    Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the HSWM following the on-screen instructions.

  2. Remove the steering column opening trim panel.

  3. Remove the bolts and the steering column reinforcement panel.

    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  4. Disconnect the HSWM electrical connector.

  5. Remove the retainers and the HSWM.
