Front Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub: Removal

NOTE: Suspension fasteners are critical parts that affect the performance of vital components and systems. Failure of these fasteners may result in major service expense. Use the same or equivalent parts if replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser quality or substitute design. Tighten fasteners as specified.
  1. NOTE: The wheel speed sensor electrical connector is located in the engine compartment secured to the fender apron.

    Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.

  2. Remove the brake disc shield. Refer to: Brake Disc Shield .
    1. Remove the wheel speed sensor wire bracket bolt.
    2. Remove the wheel speed sensor wire bracket bolt on the wheel knuckle.
    3. Unclip the wheel speed sensor wire retainers and position aside the wheel speed sensor wire.

  3. Remove the wheel hub nut dust cap.

  4. Remove and discard the wheel hub nut.

  5. Disconnect the vacuum tubes from the IWE and position aside.

  6. Remove and discard the front wheel bearing and wheel hub bolts and remove the front wheel bearing and wheel hub.
