AGM Batteries, Checking

Warning information for the high voltage system:

For procedures where the ignition must be switched off, refer to PROCEDURES FOR WHICH THE IGNITION NEEDS TO BE SWITCHED OFF .

NOTE:

Only applies to battery A on hybrid vehicles.

Battery A is located in the spare wheel well.

AGM batteries are marked with "AGM".

The AGM battery is closed, needs >>no maintenance<<, and >>must not be opened<<.

Perform a visual inspection of the battery:

  1. Corrosion on the battery pole
  2. Battery Terminal and Battery Secure
  3. Damage to the battery terminals and housing
CAUTION:

The crash safety is reduced if an incorrect battery is installed.

Always replace an AGM battery with another AGM battery if that is what the vehicle originally had installed. .
