Fuel Cooler, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
-- Remove the right underbody trim panel. Refer to UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
WARNING:
There is a risk of burns due to hot fuel.
- The temperature of the fuel lines or fuel may reach 100 °C (212 °F) after stopping the engine. Let the fuel cool down before opening any line connections otherwise there is a danger of scalding.
- Wear safety gloves
- Wear protective eyewear.
There is a risk of injury because the fuel is under pressure.
- Place rags around the connection before opening the system. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection.
-- Place the catch tray under the fuel cooler.
-- Remove the fuel return line -7- on the front of the fuel cooler.
-- Remove the fuel return line -3- on the back of the fuel cooler. Disconnect the connector couplings. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, SEPARATING .
-- Remove the bolts -2, 4 and 6-.
-- Unclip the fuel lines -1 and 5- from the fuel cooler -arrows- and remove the fuel line.
