Brake Caliper, Replacing, 1LM: Installing

NOTE:

Clean Bolts Before Reusing

Replace Damaged Bolts

Always replace self-locking bolts.

-- Install the brake caliper with the bolts -13- and tighten.

-- Install the brake hose -8- in the brake caliper.

NOTE:

Brake Hose In Brake Caliper: 16 Nm.

Brake Pressure Line To Brake Hose: 16 Nm.

-- Install the brake pads. Refer to BRAKE PADS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 1LM .

-- Remove the :VAG1869/2 .

NOTE:

Only bleed the brakes on the wheel which had the brake caliper replaced.

NOTE:

Bleed each brake caliper at both bleed screws.

Bleed screw tightening specification: 15 Nm.

-- If there is insufficient brake pressure, bleed the brake system. Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM .

-- Install The Wheels.

Wheel bolt tightening specification. Refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .

CAUTION:

After the first drive, depress brake pedal firmly several times with vehicle stationary so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.

CAUTION:

Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
