Spoiler, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following: 

-- If the rear lid was damaged, repaired or replaced, the paint structure must be repaired and if necessary, the corrosion protection must be reapplied.

-- Clean the adhesive surface on the rear lid and on the spoiler with Cleaning Solution:D 009 401 04  .

-- Position the spoiler on the read lid to test:

• The rear edge of the spoiler -2- must be flush with the edge -3- on the rear lid.
• The spoiler must be centered on the rear lid: dimension -x- = equal distance to the left and right.

-- Mark the correct spoiler position on the rid lid with tape -1- or template.

-- Attach double sided adhesive tape -1, 3 and 4- following the previous spoiler pattern onto the new spoiler.

-- Fold back the protective film ends or attach pull assists -arrows- to the protective film as soon in the illustration.

-- Apply adhesive bead -2- into the spoiler recess.

• Adhesive bead diameter = 4 ± 2 mm.
• Distance -a- to the end of the recess = 10 mm.
• Spoiler bonding after maximum of 15 minutes:

-- Position the spoiler according to the markings on the rear lid and then press on it lightly.

-- Remove the protective film with the pull assists and press on the entire length of the spoiler on the inside (direction of travel in front) starting from the inside toward the outside using the :3356  .

• Resting time approximately 8 hours at room temperature (at least 15 °C (59 °F)).
• Wait at least 24 hours before using.
