Clutch Master Or Slave Cylinder Information

If master or slave cylinder should be replaced as a result of a supposed defect, it must first be checked for function. Refer to CLUTCH MASTER AND SLAVE CYLINDERS, CHECKING FUNCTION .
If the slave cylinder is removed from transmission with hose/line assembly connector, do not operate (depress) clutch pedal any more. Otherwise, the pistons are pushed out of the slave cylinder and thus damaged.
Carefully actuate clutch pedal after installing slave cylinder. If an abnormally difficult pressure point is noticed when depressing the clutch pedal, do not depress the clutch pedal any further. The plunger of the clutch slave cylinder was probably guided past the clutch release lever. The clutch slave cylinder will get damaged if the pedal force exceeds approximately 300 N.
