- Replace nuts after each time they are loosened

- With Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724-
- Turbocharger, removing and installing, refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724-, removing and installing, refer to Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Bracket
- For the connector and engine cover
Bolt
- 9 Nm
Connecting Piece
- For air guide hose
- From the Mass Airflow Sensor -G70- to the turbocharger
- Must be free of oil and grease before installing
O-Ring
- Replace
Hose
- For the crankcase ventilation
Bolt
- 9 Nm
Nut
- Replace
- Coat the thread with hot bolt paste .
- Tightening specification and sequence, refer to Fig 3.
Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1 -G235-
- Removing and installing, refer to Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1 -G235-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Seal
- Replace

- Replace
- Tightening specification and sequence, refer to Figure.
Pipe
- To the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) pipe cooler
Seal
- Replace

Nut

Replace
Coat the thread with hot bolt paste .

Tightening specification and sequence:

EGR Pipe at the Turbocharger - Tighten the bolts and nuts in four steps in the sequence shown:

NOTE: Replace the EGR pipe and the screw-type clamp if the screwtype clamp was loosened. Replace any bolts that were tightened with an additional turn. - Attach the EGR pipe with the seals and the screw-type clamps.

NOTE: Coat the thread on the bolts with hot bolt paste; for the correct hot bolt past.

Step	Bolts/Screw- Type Clamps	Tightening Specification
1.	-2 and 3-	Turn them by hand until the bolt heads are touching
2.	-1-	position using the tab on the EGR pipe tightening specification. Part number 059 131 548 C: 5 Nm Part number 059 131 548 D: 3.5 Nm
3.	-2 and 3-	5 Nm
4.	-2 and 3-	Tighten an additional 90°

Particulate Filter
- With catalytic converter
Seal
- Replace
Bolt
- Replace
- Coat the thread with hot bolt paste .
- Tightening specification: 30 Nm + an additional 90° turn
Exhaust Manifold
- Removing and installing, refer to LEFT EXHAUST MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for left side and RIGHT EXHAUST MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for right side.
Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence, refer to Fig 3.
Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence, refer to Fig 3.
Bracket
- For the turbocharger

NOTE:

Replace the stud bolts and the nuts.

-- Tighten the bolts and nuts in seven steps in the sequence shown:

Step	Bolts/Nuts	Tightening Specification/Residual Torque
1.	Stud bolts for the nuts -1 and 2-.	10 Nm
2.	-1 and 2-	Install all the way in by hand.
3.	-1 and 2-	9 Nm
4.	-1 and 2-	Tighten an additional 90°
5.	-3, 4, and 5-	Install all the way in by hand.
6.	-3 and 4-	9 Nm
7.	-5-	23 Nm
